Picture Time!

I had William & Lindsey's pictures taken on Monday. Most of them turned out cute, though you wouldn't guess how difficult Lindsey really was just by looking at her pictures. We did catch her smiling a couple of times. It has actually been a year since I had her pictures taken. She wasn't very cooperative then, and wasn't really this time either. We even had William jumping up and down trying to get her to laugh, smile or anything! Anyway, a few pictures did turn out nice, and now I have a nice picture of the two of them together :)

Easter Egg Mess

While I was sweeping this afternoon, Linsey found the bag of Easter eggs that I had in the pantry. She thought they were so neat and pulled them out one by one. Soon the floor was filled with eggs. I have a feeling she is going to love Easter!

Update

We were unable to go the Dells this weekend due to Lindsey (& eventually the rest of us-- with the exception of William) being sick. My mom and I could tell that she wasn't feeling well this past Monday based on how she was acting and that night further cemented the "sick" idea in our minds. Over the next couple days, she continued to present cold like symptoms with a very runny nose and also insane amounts of drool. I continued to pack and get ready for our trip figuring that she only had a cold. Last Thursday, I met up with my mom for lunch so that I could send her back with our dogs since they we were going to stay with them while we were gone. During that lunch, Lindsey had an odd break down that lasted for over an hour. I even had to leave Chili's without eating. I felt horrible. She continued crying all the way home and kept on crying even when we were back. I called the doctor's office to have her seen that day just so I could figure out what exactly we were dealing with--figuring that we would be gone for four days. Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed that Lindsey tested positive for strep throat!! She has been a very healthy baby for the past 18 months. She hasn't even had one ear infection yet.

Well, that was the end of our trip to the Dells. We were thinking that if she somehow amazingly felt better within a day of taking medicine that maybe we would still go up, but then my throat was a bit sore, and then Jason's was, too, and he feels even worse now with this illness having moved to his chest with a very deep cough. He just laid around the house all day yesterday. I can't imagine how miserable we would all have been had we gone up there. Only now, I feel awful because our friends are up there and this whole trip was my idea in the first place. I just hope they're having a good time. They're great people to hang out with and it's a shame that we missed out. Gotta take care of a sick baby, though. What kind of a parent would I be if I would forced the situation just so I could potentially have some fun? Family first. I just hope everyone starts feeling better soon. Jason doesn't get sick too often, but when he does, he's usually down for a while. Hopefully this will pass soon, and hopefully Spring will get here soon. They're predicting more snow for this week....ARGH!!!!

Some Fun Video Clips

Here are a few cute video clips of Lindsey from the last few weeks. One of them Lindsey is being chased around the house by William--but Loving it. Another clip is of Lindsey "sharing" a sucker with her daddy. And the final clip, I am particularly proud of, is of Lindsey putting the four shape blocks into her shape sorter box. Such a big girl. I'm sad to say that Lindsey has a cold right now. We have plans to go to the Dells this weekend with the Scolas. We'll see how that pans out for the poor little baby.

Cute Pics & LINDSEY SAYS "COOKIE!!!"

While my mom and I were out shopping for an Easter dress for Lindsey today she said the word "cookie!" I was soo excited!! We were in the shoe store while she was making a noise that sounded like it and I started saying "cookie" and then she started saying it! We then promptly made our way over to Mrs. Field's and bought her a little, pink, princess cookie--and she kept saying "Cookie!!!!!" She has been saying it all afternoon since she has been home. This is Lindsey's fourth word. She has said other words in the past, but not consistently so we haven't counted them (like mama and dada, sadly). Also part of our shopping fun, and much to Lindsey's delight, Nana bought her an adorable turtle purse that she is running around with in the video. She hasn't let go of it since we got home. Too cute! I can see her playing with that for years to come. Hopefully the cookie won't end up in there. What a great day!!!

18 Months Old

How time flies! I know I say it frequently, but I still can't believe how big Lindsey is getting and how time has gone so quickly! Among Lindsey's developments, she has 3 words that she uses pretty regularly now: "okay," "keys," and "balloon." She did say "juice"the other night, and both Jason and I heard it, but she hasn't said it since. She was also saying "Boobah" a lot, but hasn't said that one recently either. She is talking more than she used to, but we're still waiting to hear "mama" and "dada" while directing her attention to us. She has also started using the potty more--usually at night before she takes a bath. She had been using the potty a lot before Christmas, but then she got an Elmo bath mat and wanted nothing to do with the potty, and rather stare at Elmo in the bath tub :) Silly girl. It'll be nice when she's out of diapers. She's still doing well with being in a toddler bed. She will occasionally come running into our room at night, and then I'll go and lay her back down--and she usually stays there. I have also tested the peanut and strawberry allergy with her, and everything seems to be fine. She had her first peanut butter and jelly sandwich the other day. She loved the strawberry jelly! Quite messy. She has a lot of teeth now, too. One of her "eye" teeth broke through finally a couple of days ago. She had been quite grumpy because of it. Poor little girl:( Something that we all have to go through. (She has fourteen teeth now!) Hopefully the weather will warm up and all of the snow will melt and then we'll be able to play outside more. I can't wait for that (& Spring!!!)!!!!
A few notes about the pictures: the first is of Lindsey chewing on her daddy's toothbrush...eeewww. It must feel good on her teeth. The second is just of her being silly, the third and fourth are of her posing while laughing at me with the camera, and then the last picture is actually from a couple of days ago, but she is standing on the snow. We have had soooo much snow this winter. Sure keeps us busy, and Lindsey really enjoys playing outside in it :)
