Playing with Her Bouncy Zebra

Sorry for the delay in posts here recently. We've been busy with William starting school and Daddy being out of town. Anyway, Lindsey is growing like a weed (3 feet tall) and is busy as ever! She still loves swimming with Nana and Grandpa in the pool and playing with her big brother. I caught some cute pictures of Lindsey playing on her bouncy zebra this morning. For those who don't know, Lindsey got the zebra last year for her first birthday--and still loves to play with it!! Such a happy baby. BTW, in the fourth picture, Lindsey is showing Mickey Mouse and her baby doll the fish. I had to buy a new tank for our fish because her old one broke when I was cleaning it. Regardless, she thought they would like to say Hi :) Oh yeah, I know it's kinda hard to tell, but she does have her Daddy's curly hair. Some days it's curlier than others. I can either make it nice and straight, or really encourage her hair to be very curly...It's soo pretty!

Here's a couple videos, too. One of her bouncing on her zebra, and another of her just playing with some toys in her bedroom.

Our Trip to the NHRA U.S. Nationals, IN, Sep.1 2008

Finish Line... Some of the pits where the cars are worked on.
Antron Brown's top fuel car (achieving speeds over 300 mph).Yes, we got to get that close!
Ron Capps...Dreamy...(and me with no hair or make up done! ugh!)
Antron Brown mixing fuel for his car.

Okay, I know this has nothing to do with Lindsey (especially since her blog is titled "All About Lindsey"), but, Jason and I had such an awesome time at the drag races that I felt I had to post a blog and some pictures of it. Jason has been drag racing off and on for the past few years, and he and I almost always watch the NHRA drag races on the Sundays that they are on. And recently here, I have started drag racing my motorcycle at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove.I have been having so much fun doing it (and my best buddy, Nancy, also has a race dedicated bike) and with the U.S Nationals having come up recently, I thought it would be a fun weekend for Jason and I.

We actually left on Sunday and rode a motorcycle (Buell Ulysses) down to Indianapolis. It was very nice to ride two up on because there is a lot of room for both of us, plus lots of storage, and it was also nice to be a passenger for a change (and not to mention the awesome MPGs--our primary motivator in taking the bike, plus I never tire of the thought of holding my husband close) just taking in the scenery during late summer.

While it was very hot (93f) at the track, we had so much fun walking around all the pits, meeting the famous race car drivers (and even snatching a couple pictures with some of them), seeing the crews work on the cars right there in front of you, and ultimately, seeing a top fuel car blast past you at insane speeds that make your chest shake! A truly awesome day and I can't wait to go again (and maybe get that picture with Antron Brown next time!)

2nd Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese's

Lindsey trying to sneak a few bites of cake before we sang "Happy Birthday."

Lindsey opening her new tricycle from Nana Grandpa. Definitely her favorite present from the evening.

Looks Who's Two!!!!!

Today our little Lindsey Mae turned two years old. Last night around 8 o'clock, Jason and I started reminscing about where we were at that time (playing with the dogs at the beach and then on our way home because my contractions seemed to keep coming) and how the rest of the evening played out for us--and then her eventual birth at 12:34 a.m. I can't believe two years has gone by in the blink of an eye. So much has happened in those two years, and yet it's almost all a blur. I can hardly even think of her as an infant.

Lindsey is growing like a weed now, and talks almost constantly. One of her favorite words (well, maybe one of our favorites) is how she says the words "Yes..." It is too cute--all the emphasis on the "s." She really tries to say everything that we ask of her now. She is a total daredevil and climbs onto anything that is within her reach. She also gives very nice kisses now (no more open mouth leading into it) and when you ask her to say "I Love You," she says "love" back to you. Too cute!

I will post pictures later on from her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's tonight. Right now, here's a picture from an early present that her great Nanny bought for her. Thanks, Nanny!!

Our Garden

Our garden is pretty well filled in now. Very soon we will have a lot of tomatoes. Right now there are very green but some are just starting to turn a bit orangeish. We also have zucchini (pictured above), green beans, peas, lettuce, herbs, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, yellow peppers, and a giant sunflower. I must have had some left over seeds in the garden area from last year, and somehow I got a couple cherry tomato plants out of it and a giant sunflower again! While I was out there picking some of the ripe plants, Lindsey got one tomato and ate some of it:) I caught her on video with it, and you can hear her speak a bit, too!

A Few Pics & Having Fun at Nana's Pool

Lindsey had a great time swimming in Nana's pool last night. She does a great job at floating and the doggie paddle (keep in mind that she wears a floatation swim suit). She enjoys throwing leaves a few feet away from herself and then retrieving them. She also had a great time going down the kiddie slide and doesn't even mind getting completely submerged under water. She swims right back to the side of the pool and goes again. She also really likes to float on the rafts (the purple one, of course--her favorite color) and will even count herself down to jumping off by saying "Ready, Set, Go!" and then proceeds to fall in the water and just swim around. She is such a fish!

The four of us had so much fun at Nana's house yesterday. Some of that fun included squirt guns--for just the boys--and then some shenanigans on the diving board. DaddyJ had a great time playing with William and throwing him into the water. Mongo even joined in the fun eventually. William was a little nervous, but did have fun despite his saying "No!" Too cute!

William and DaddyJ playing on the diving board. Mongo did join in on this one and accidentally scratched William in the water which is why William was crying at the end. But I swear he did have a great time!! :)
