Sadie's 1st Birthday!

Sadie celebrated her first birthday last night at Aunt Pat's house (Sadie is Ruthanne's daughter--and Ruthanne is Jason's cousin). Lindsey had so much fun playing with her and even shared with her very nicely. Lindsey enjoyed giving Sadie a bunch of baby toys and even gave her some balloons on more than one occasion. Sadie received a lot of clothes for her birthday (including from us) and also an adorable pink beret with a decorative floral trim--too cute! I can't wait to see these girls grow up together and play!

A totally random video post, but cute nonetheless. Lindsey enjoys reading "Where's Spot?" and likes to answer the questions with a sweet "Noooo." So cute!

Lindsey (& Family) at the ALS walk

Lindsey went on her first ALS walk today (for those who don't know, that is another name for Lou Gehrig's disease). Her Papa Bower passed away four years from this ailment. There were many people there to support the cause and raise money for research purposes (since they're still uncertain what exactly causes it, and there is no cure for it). Luckily, it was a very nice day outside (about 60f), though it was very windy. Lindsey really enjoyed playing in the grass with the Bower kids before the walk began. All in all, a very nice day.

Presenting....Lindsey Mouse!!

Isn't she adorable!?! Lindsey has been a big fan of the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" show on the Disney channel for a while now. So naturally, I thought it would be cute for her to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween this year. Nana and I went to the Disney store at the mall today and found the adorable outfit that Minnie wears in the clubhouse show. While we were there, Lindsey saw all of the other characters that are on the show and she blurted out "Donald Duck," and Nana was amazed because she didn't know that Lindsey knew who they all were, and that she could say that! She named all of the other guys, too--Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie and Mickey. It's still so very exciting to Jason and I when she says a new word, and lately here she has been saying about two new words a day--on average. On a special mommy note, Lindsey made poo-poo on the toilet today!! It will be so nice when I can get her totally out of diapers:)
P.S. I know it is kind of hard to tell, but there is a little heel on the pretty yellow shoes that she has on---and they're glittery...oooooh!

Family Fun at the Pumpkin Farm

It was a beautiful day today so what better thing to do than go to the coolest pumpkin farm in town. Grandma and "Icky" (Auntie Julie) met us there and had a very nice time. Lindsey had to inspect and try and pick up every pumpkin she saw. She also had a great time looking at the animals--there was even a puppet show which had a witch :) (Just had to do the play on words there) She also enjoyed running through the large grass field that led to a corn maze that had some very cool decorated sections. At the end, both William and Lindsey picked out their own pumpkins. Now we just have to decide on what to carve! :)

For Your Consideration....

Since it is Halloween time, we have been giving heavy thought to what Lindsey should be for trick or treat. I was originally thinking about getting her an adorable bumble bee costume that I saw in a catalog, but with all of the accessories, the costume about $70. Being that she is only 2, and doesn't really care about what she wears yet, I've been giving some thought to one of William's old Halloween costumes--Dumbo! William was two years old when he wore this costume. It is from the Disney store and is just adorable on her! The only thing is that she really doesn't want to keep the hood up on it. SO, I was wondering if y'all would send me your opinions on the Dumbo costume. The other costume that I was considering for her is a Minnie Mouse costume. I think that would be really cute, too, but I already have the Dumbo one...Dunno. Let me know what you think!! Thanks!!

Playing with Her Bouncy Zebra

Sorry for the delay in posts here recently. We've been busy with William starting school and Daddy being out of town. Anyway, Lindsey is growing like a weed (3 feet tall) and is busy as ever! She still loves swimming with Nana and Grandpa in the pool and playing with her big brother. I caught some cute pictures of Lindsey playing on her bouncy zebra this morning. For those who don't know, Lindsey got the zebra last year for her first birthday--and still loves to play with it!! Such a happy baby. BTW, in the fourth picture, Lindsey is showing Mickey Mouse and her baby doll the fish. I had to buy a new tank for our fish because her old one broke when I was cleaning it. Regardless, she thought they would like to say Hi :) Oh yeah, I know it's kinda hard to tell, but she does have her Daddy's curly hair. Some days it's curlier than others. I can either make it nice and straight, or really encourage her hair to be very curly...It's soo pretty!

Here's a couple videos, too. One of her bouncing on her zebra, and another of her just playing with some toys in her bedroom.

Our Trip to the NHRA U.S. Nationals, IN, Sep.1 2008

Finish Line... Some of the pits where the cars are worked on.
Antron Brown's top fuel car (achieving speeds over 300 mph).Yes, we got to get that close!
Ron Capps...Dreamy...(and me with no hair or make up done! ugh!)
Antron Brown mixing fuel for his car.

Okay, I know this has nothing to do with Lindsey (especially since her blog is titled "All About Lindsey"), but, Jason and I had such an awesome time at the drag races that I felt I had to post a blog and some pictures of it. Jason has been drag racing off and on for the past few years, and he and I almost always watch the NHRA drag races on the Sundays that they are on. And recently here, I have started drag racing my motorcycle at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove.I have been having so much fun doing it (and my best buddy, Nancy, also has a race dedicated bike) and with the U.S Nationals having come up recently, I thought it would be a fun weekend for Jason and I.

We actually left on Sunday and rode a motorcycle (Buell Ulysses) down to Indianapolis. It was very nice to ride two up on because there is a lot of room for both of us, plus lots of storage, and it was also nice to be a passenger for a change (and not to mention the awesome MPGs--our primary motivator in taking the bike, plus I never tire of the thought of holding my husband close) just taking in the scenery during late summer.

While it was very hot (93f) at the track, we had so much fun walking around all the pits, meeting the famous race car drivers (and even snatching a couple pictures with some of them), seeing the crews work on the cars right there in front of you, and ultimately, seeing a top fuel car blast past you at insane speeds that make your chest shake! A truly awesome day and I can't wait to go again (and maybe get that picture with Antron Brown next time!)
